Hello, I am Anjaly, a child therapist at Blossomm Therapy. My journey to becoming a psychologist started in high school when I was first introduced to the subject. Over time, I became deeply intrigued by the human mind and behaviour, which inspired me to pursue a career in psychology.
After completing my undergraduate and postgraduate studies in psychology, I began working with special needs children. This experience further strengthened my passion for supporting children in their growth, emotional wellbeing, and development. I chose to specialize in child psychology because I genuinely enjoy working with children and wanted to build a career where I could make a meaningful difference in their lives.
When working with children, I use a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches depending on the child’s needs and concerns. These include:
I have worked with children facing a wide range of emotional, behavioural, and developmental concerns. My expertise includes working with:
Our work together is designed to be safe, welcoming, and child-friendly, where children can express themselves comfortably. Sessions often begin with a conversation with parents or caregivers to understand the child’s developmental history, background, and current concerns.
During sessions, I engage children through play, drawing, storytelling, or games rather than direct questioning, so they can communicate naturally and comfortably. I observe the child’s behaviour, emotions, and social interactions while gradually building trust and rapport. Over time, sessions focus on emotional regulation, coping strategies, and social development. Parents are also given feedback and practical guidance to support the child at home.
I believe that healthy children become healthy adults. Through our work together, my goal is to support children in their emotional, behavioural, and developmental needs so they can grow into healthy, confident, and resilient individuals.
Thank you for reaching out. I understand that beginning therapy for your child can bring a mix of thoughts and emotions, and I want to reassure you that you are taking a meaningful and supportive step for your child’s well-being.
My approach focuses on creating a warm, safe, and comfortable space where your child can express themselves freely. Sessions are often play-based or interactive, allowing children to communicate their feelings in ways that feel natural to them. This is a collaborative journey, and I am here to support both you and your child along the way.
